Paul’s Spring Term has now ended and we are looking forward to the Summer Term – although the weather makes it feel more like Winter. We have two Art Workshop sketching days planned for April. We are both hoping the weather warms up. Both venues have been carefully chosen and are fine if the weather is bad, but it would be lovely if we could have a couple of warm sunny days for a change! If you are interested in any of Paul’s workshops please see link here: Spring Workshops 2013 These one-day workshops fill up very quickly. Please ring Paul on 07913 290 155 to find out if there are any spaces.
Paul has been busy painting – including a large commission piece – and also preparing for an art show in Bristol on April 6th. The Society of All Artists rang a few weeks ago to ask him to do a demonstration on the Saturday. If you would like to come along, all the information is here: It’s All About Art Bristol 2013 He will be painting a seascape using acrylics.
We’re quite excited about going up to Bristol now. I’ve found out about an outdoor heated lido which I’m hoping we can visit!
Talking of swimming, I have been continuing to swim all year round, as some of you know. I have to say it has felt colder these last few weeks than the whole of the winter. The biting Easterly doesn’t help the post-swim shivers. Paul and I were hoping to have our traditional first surf of the year on March 22nd – my birthday. The weather put paid to that – torrential rain and high winds, together with no surf at Polzeath! We stayed local and went to Bovisand instead. I had a lovely swim in the rain, whilst Paul got drenched watching me on the beach.
We warmed up afterwards in Café Bovisand – a great little beach café, where we discovered they were using a teapot made by Paul when he was a potter a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.
