Gosh Summer is a busy time! The weeks since Paul’s exhibition in the Royal William Yard have flown by.
The Exhibition went well – the Yard were very supportive and the security officer, Jay was especially helpful. The venue was stunning – Residence One is a fantastic house, beautiful inside and out and squarely built. I wouldn’t mind living there I can tell you, especially as it is a short walk to a quick swim off Devil’s Point. The garden was rambling and beautifully unkempt with a tumbledown gazebo looking out to sea. Rumour is that it’s all being sold at the moment. Lucky them!
Everything went well, but sales were down from last time and although we worked hard we didn’t quite get to £400 for Plymouth RNLI. We were disappointed, we have to admit, but it was a good experience and we enjoyed being in the Royal William Yard. Paul made some new Chinese friends who loved his work and wanted autographs and photographs – it certainly made his day!
Since then Paul has been presenting his Summer Classes which have gone very well with several new students enjoying Paul’s effective teaching techniques. I saw some of their seascapes in acrylics on Wednesday – they were fantastic!
We have also been busy cramming five summers into one with lots of swimming, bellyboarding and surfing. We hit lucky with the hot weather and spent a magical week almost permanently in the clear waters off the north coast of Cornwall. We found a huge gulley and cave to explore and marvelled at the nightly sunsets.
Premises update will be here soon! (Surely?!)
