For the last few weeks Paul and I have been working most days at the new premises. We have nearly finished moving his Studio from the Barbican to Studio 99 – not an easy task! Paul has been there for 12 years, so it is a little strange to be moving out. We now have sofas, a tiny shop area and new windows. We are waiting for a sign.
We are also excited about the first exhibition in Studio 99. We shall again be supporting St Luke’s Hospice – this will be our 8th year. Click here for the Facebook event details We started back in September 2006 with a one-day exhibition at Tothill Community Centre. Since then Paul has exhibited in many different venues including the Sir Joshua Reynolds Centre in Plympton, Pearn – the Day Hospice for St Luke’s, his studio in New Street, The Royal Plymouth Corinthian Yacht Club and Royal William Yard. We are very much looking forward to welcoming everyone to Studio 99 at the weekend. We are open from 11 am – 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday (16/17 November). As before we shall be offering 25% of all art sales to St Luke’s. We shall have a draw to win a fine Paul Acraman original:
And – there will be cake!
We have also had some fun over the last few weeks – we always aim to plot this into our schedule. We went to St Ives for a day and stood for ages on the cliffs, mesmerised by the crashing waves on Porthmeor beach.
We bellyboarded at Bovisand, wading through thick seaweed, broken up by the big storms. I had some bracing, choppy swims off Tinside with my swimming chums.
We listened to some Blues on the Barbican and on a bright morning watched surfers dodging the reef at Andern Point.
Then, in the middle of everything on November 5th (her birthday), our daughter announced her engagement! We are both delighted and haven’t quite processed all the information yet. Congratulations to Lucie and Chris – we wish you every joy you can think of.
